"PLEASE DO NOT VACATION FROM GOD"
By Dr. Hoyt W. Allen, Jr.
I. PLEASE DO NOT
make trips on
Sunday, which can be
taken on other
days. Being in
Worship and Sunday
School every
Sunday is very
needful for one's
spiritual growth.
If you need
assistance in
locating a New
Testament
congregation (where
Communion is served
weekly and sinners
are baptized by
immersion for the
forgiveness of sin
and the gift of the
Holy Spirit),
contact the Church
Office prior to your
departure. If you
must depart on
Sunday, please
depart early and
stop at a New
Testament
congregation, while
traveling.
II. PLEASE DO NOT allow weekend visitors to keep you from being present at Worship and Sunday School. Your Christian "Witness" to them will be much stronger if you bring them to Services with you. Even non-Christians expect Christians to be present at all Church Services.
III. PLEASE DO NOT wear yourself out so that you do not have any energy for the Lord. Vacations are to "refresh" us. Thus, to be renewed and ready to serve our God even more fully should be our goal toward vacations.
IV. PLEASE DO NOT take a vacation from God, by leaving your Bible at home. Daily Devotions from God's Bible is very needful for everyone of us (young and old). It is food for our souls - let's not starve it!
V. PLEASE DO NOT neglect your financial responsibilities "Back Home" while on vacation. Your tithes and offerings are missed when you are gone. Please consider "doubling up" when you return. You are needed at the "Home Church".
