“NOVEMBER 11 - A DAY FOR ALL VETERANS”= ;

            =             &nb= sp;            =        It’s the day= set aside to honor all those brave men and women who served in our armed forces.  But it didn’t s= tart out that way.  The year was 19= 18, and on November 11th, at precisely the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, “The Great War” ended.

  =           No one called it= World War I then, because they had no idea that less than two decades later, the world would be thrust into an even greater conflict.  All they knew was that “The = War to End All Wars” was over.  The armistice, or truce, had been signed.

  =           One year later, President Wilson  declared November 11th mistice Day= , the first national commemoration of the war.&n= bsp; Over the following years, 27 states=   made the date a legal holiday.  Finally, in 1938, Congress made Armistice Day a national holiday.

  =           By 1954, after the United States ha= d  been embroiled in World War II and= the Korean War, President Eisenhower signed a bill changing Armistice Day to Ve= terans Day, in honor of all those who  served their country.

  =           In 1968, a law was passed changing<= span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>  Veterans’ Day to the fourth = Monday in  October, creating a three-= day weekend.  But it was quite app= arent that the commemoration of this day was a matter  of  historic and patriotic significance=   to a great number of our citizens, so,   in 1975, President Ford sign= ed a bill restoring the original date.

  =      We’re glad that Veterans’ Day will always be commemorated on November 11th.  We believe that all Ame= ricans should appreciate what Veterans have done for us. 

  

     Let us never forget the supreme sac= rifice that Jesus Christ paid for the sins of mankind, when He died on Calvary’s Cross.  May we always be encouraging all m= ankind to accept Him as Savior.

 1) Believe In Jesus As Savior (Acts 16:31)&nb= sp; 2) Repent Of Sins  (Acts 17:30)   3) Confess Christ Audibly (Acts 8:37)   4) = Be Baptized In   Water (Acts 2:38)   5) Live A  Christian Life (Acts 14:22)
