“IT JUST HAPPENS..., DOESN’T IT?”
By Hoyt W. Allen, Jr.
There are many things (events) which should not happen, but they do. Some of
which might be:
1) Youth start many things and never follow through, such as:
a) Begin lessons (piano, guitar, karate, etc.)
b) Join a group (team, band, club, etc.)
c) Start (college, military, jobs, etc.)
2) Adults commence various avenues in life, such as:
a) Diets
b) Classes (crafts, sewing, art, computer, college, etc.)
c) Marriage and then due to lack of maturing - they divorce
d) Friendships with neighbors, co-workers, then a conflict is experienced and
they are on the “outs”
e) Enroll in the church (baptized and all), then they do not put forth the
needed effort to grow spiritually and fall away
3) Many of our “Government Officials” begin with a desire to serve the people,
but then they grow indifferent and refuse to give an ear to those who elected
them to Office. Soon, all that seemingly on their minds is how to get into the
tax-payers pockets a little deeper and produce another “give away program”
4) Numerous “Business People” start out “right”. They desire to stand behind
their products and service. However, in due time this becomes a big joke to
their unserved customers
5) Various “Church Leaders and Pulpit Ministers” start out like a house on fire
and have a servant’s heart. Soon afterward, some of them become dictators. They
put forth an “air” that they know it all and do not want to hear anything from
anybody. They want to wear the name, but are not willing to play the game. The
sad ending to this situation often is a “Church Split”.
Now, when we find ourselves in a situation that should never have happened, what
can we do? Burying one’s head in the sand does not work. We need to seek God’s
solution, which is found in His Word (Bible). God is still alive and well and He
wants to bless us if we do His will.
