“NOAH’S ARK, LEARNING FROM IT”
By Dr. Hoyt W. Allen, Jr.
In every event in
life - there seems
to be a lesson. When
one reads about the
Bible’s account of a
world-wide flood
(Genesis 6-8), there
is no difference. If
one will read it
closely one should
learn at least the
following:
1) Understand that
the majority is not
always correct.
2) When God says to
“do” something, like
building a boat,
just do it,
believing that God
knows best.
3) As specific
directions are
extended, follow
such - even as Noah
did in constructing
the ark (400 feet
long, 75 feet wide
and 45 feet high).
4) Attempt to stay
ready for God’s
call, no matter what
our age is (Noah was
100 years of age
when called: Gen.
6:7)
5) Don’t bow down to
critics. Noah had
only his family who
were on his side.
(his wife, his sons:
Shem, Ham and
Japheth and their
wives. A total of
eight; see I Peter
3:13-22).
6) Sometimes one
must be crowded
(uncomfortable), as
Noah’s family cared
for the animals on
the ark.
7) As the animals
were loaded on to
the ark they were in
pairs. Thus,
traveling in pairs
is a good safety
feature.
8) When one is
stressed, floating
for a while can do
one good. Noah’s
family was in the
ark for over a year.
9) Keep in mind that
the Ark was built by
amateurs and the
Titanic by
professionals, but
consider which
stayed afloat and
completed it’s
mission.
10) When the storms
get severe, the one
who is walking or
floating with God,
is one who is not
only in good hands,
but in the hands of
the creator of
heaven and earth.
11) Remember that we
are all in the same
boat. Red, yellow,
black and white (all
races) and it is
going to take the
red blood of Jesus
to cleanse us from
sin and permit us
into heaven.
12) Don’t “miss the
boat” by following a
“False Doctrine”.
The Bible teaches in
the Book of Acts
that to be a
Christian one must:
1) Believe In Jesus
As Savior (Acts
16:31) 2) Repent Of
Sins (Acts 17:30)
3) Confess Christ
Audibly (Acts 8:37)
4) Be Baptized In
Water (Acts 2:38)
5) Live A Christian
Life (Acts 14:22) 6)
Be Active in the
Church (Acts 2:47)
