FAMILIES PERSECUTED
By Dr. Hoyt W. Allen, Jr
Concerning the
question about
families being
persecuted due to a
husband/father’s
behavior, - see
Daniel 6:24, see
also Joshua 7:24.
The reason for the
family being slain
was that they were
partakers of the
husband/father’s sin
(see Deut. 24:16;
Ezek. 18:20, which
teaches that a “Just
God” does not do
wrongly). In Joshua
7:25, Achan was
stoned first so that
his family and all
Israel could see the
result of his sin,
then his family was
stoned and burned.
God demands justice!
Of course, there are
times when families
get caught in the
midst of abusiveness
which they did not
deserve, but this is
not God’s will!
God has a
“Foreknowledge” of
who is “For Real” or
on His side and who
is not. He knew in
the days of Noah
(Genesis 6-9) that
the multitudes were
not going to repent,
due to His
foreknowledge, thus
that is why He
permitted them (even
children) to all
drown. When Judas
Iscariot betrayed
Jesus, God did not
compel him to do so,
but had a
foreknowledge of
this event, even
before the
foundation of the
world (Ephesians
1:4,5,11). We all
have a ”Free-Will”
(II Peter 3:9) and
must choose God or
punishment awaits us
here and in the
here-after.
I don’t like
gruesome details of
deaths like
beheading of Goliath
(I Sam. 17:48-51) or
the crucifying of
Jesus (Matt. 27),
but it is a fact in
history’s book, just
as is WWII and
Hitler’s
extermination of six
million Jews in
ovens (see our
article on “Tortures
of Christians).
