“WHAT IS OUR EXCUSE”
By Dr. Hoyt W. Allen, Jr.
The following
article came to me
recently and I
contended that I
should pass it on.
It has been slightly
edited. Please read
it - it possibly
will bless you real
good!
The next time you
think you have an
excuse why God can't
use you, remember
the following
people:
1) Noah was drunk 2)
Abraham was too old
3) Isaac was a
daydreamer 4) Jacob
was a liar 5) Leah
was ugly 6) Joseph
was abused 7) Moses
was a murderer, like
David and Paul
8) Deborah was a
woman 9) Gideon was
afraid 10) Samson
had long hair 11)
Rahab was a
prostitute 12)
Jeremiah and Timothy
were too young 13)
David pretended to
be mad, had an
affair and ran away
from his own son 14)
Elijah was suicidal
15) Isaiah preached
naked 16) Jonah ran
away from God 17)
Naomi was a widow
18) Job was bankrupt
19) John the Baptist
ate locusts
20) Peter was
impulsive and
hot-tempered 21)
John was
self-righteous 22)
The disciples fell
asleep while praying
23) Martha worried
about everything 24)
Mary was so Jesus
minded she was no
earthly good 25)
Mary Magdalene was
demon-possessed 26)
The boy with the
fish and five rolls
of bread was too
unknown, and still
is 27) The Samaritan
woman was divorced -
even more than once
28) Zacchaeus was
too small
29) Paul was too
religious 30)
Timothy had a
stomach ulcer, and
Lazarus was dead.
Thus, No more
excuses! Now what is
ours?
God has gifted each
of us with various
talents, skills,
abilities. He ask us
to honor Him by
using these to
promote His will to
others.
Plainly, don’t
get short changed.
Let’s be ready to
meet our Maker. The
Bible teaches that
to avoid hell and
gain heaven -we
must:
1) Believe In Jesus
As Savior (Acts
16:31) 2) Repent Of
Sins (Acts 17:30)
3) Confess Christ
Audibly (Acts 8:37)
4) Be Baptized In
Water (Acts 2:38)
5) Live A Christian
Life (Acts 14:22) 6)
Stay Active in the
Church (Acts 2:47)
