"EVANGELISM
WHO SHOULD
PARTICIPATE?"
By Dr. Hoyt W. Allen, Jr.
Since I become a
Christian on August
25, 1963, I have
learned a great deal
about many things.
However, probably
the most important
area of Christianity
which I have learned
has been that God
desires that I and
every Christian be
evangelistic minded.
Satan would have us
to be "Passing The
Buck" and thinking
that a church can
hire a preacher to
do all the
evangelizing and
that will take care
of it. We should
remember this is
Satan talking and
not God.
The Liberal Arts
Colleges began in
America to liberate
or free people of
ignorance of the
sciences. This has
helped many out of
superstitious
thoughts. If you
recall, they bled
our first President
to death. Likewise,
education of the
Scriptures is needed
for mankind to "Grow
Up" in knowledge of
the Word and in
making one's life
count. Sitting
around and pointing
out the faults of
everyone else will
not get the job
done.
This world's
population of over
six billion with a
daily increase of
254,000 (93 million
yearly) is seeing a
yearly increase to
Christianity of only
two million (under
the umbrella of
Christianity). The
ratio of Christians
is dropping
constantly. In 1980
Christians made up
only 8% of the world
population. In 1990
it dropped to only
6% and then in the
year 2,000 it
dropped to only 2%.
For every person
being won to
Christianity nine
are being converted
to Islam. Jesus said
, "I am the way, the
truth, and the life,
and no man comes to
the Father, except
through me" (John
14:6). Yet the
Christian community
sits around and
fusses over things
that do not matter
in God's sight.
Satan is having a
great day through it
all. The BIG
Question is - what
are we doing as
individuals to win
souls to Jesus and
to help them to grow
and be profitable to
the KINGDOM?
Some Potential Goals
For Each Of Us Might
Be...:
1) Pray that God
will give us the
wisdom to continue
to learn the truth .
2) Be tolerant of
others who disagree
with us.
3) Understand that
we must believe we
are correct, but be
open to be taught
some new things if
they are in
accordance with the
Scriptures.
4) Be kind to our
fellow human beings.
People do have
opinions and if we
are going to witness
to them, one must
differ in a spirit
of kindness.
5) Target two (2)
people to begin
teaching the "Ways
Of Jesus" by
nightfall.
