CHRISTIAN GIVING

The word of God
says:
II Cor 9:6-8 6
Remember this:
Whoever sows
sparingly will also
reap sparingly, and
whoever sows
generously will also
reap generously. 7
Each man should give
what he has decided
in his heart to
give, not
reluctantly or under
compulsion, for God
loves a cheerful
giver.
II Cor 10:12-13 12
We do not dare to
classify or compare
ourselves with some
who commend
themselves. When
they measure
themselves by
themselves and
compare themselves
with themselves,
they are not wise.
It is really easy
and very common for
us to compare
ourselves to one
another. We humans
are often slow to
understand that this
is God’s world and
that we are
recipients of His
love and care. He
provides us with: 1)
the air we breath 2)
the water we drink
3) the food we eat
4) as well as the
earth upon which we
walk. Come to think
of it He is the One
who even makes our
legs to work so that
we can walk upon His
earth. If we do not
think so - just ask
a person who needs
or has recently had
a knee replacement.
It is He who
provides us with a
pair of eyes and
then we often
neglect to read His
Word, don’t we. We
use the eyes that He
has given us to read
the newspaper,
various books, and
watch endless hours
of TV, but to
schedule a few
minutes daily to the
study of His Word -
No, No. Even many
church -goers
neglect attending
Sunday School and a
Mid-Week Bible
Study, whereby they
could receive a
greater
understanding of His
will.
God waits to bless
the person who is
willing to tithe
(giving God the
first 10% of one’s
income) and wanting
to put God first in
their lives by
demonstrating such
by having Him first
not only in his/her
treasurers, but also
in his time and
talents.
Plainly, don’t get
short changed. Let’s
be ready to meet our
Maker. The Bible (in
Acts) teaches that
to avoid hell and
gain heaven - one
must:
1) Believe In Jesus
As Savior (16:31) 2)
Repent Of Sins
(17:30)
3) Confess Christ
Audibly (8:37) 4) Be
Baptized In Water
(2:38)
5) Live A Christian
Life (14:22) 6) Be
Active In the Church
(2:47)
