MINISTER  PRIORITIES

By Dr. Hoyt W. Allen, Jr.

  1) Get “all cards on the table” prior to relocating.

  2) Attempt to secure a secretary to shield you from interruptions.

  3) Recognize that prayer and devotions must  take precedence.

  4) Communicate with your area ministers.

  5) Record a daily schedule & endeavor to follow it.

  6) Always work at the most important items first.

  7) Evaluate your strengths and use them first.

  8) Concentrate on the most important.

  9) Set deadlines for yourself.

10) Anticipate problems and consider solutions.

11) Answer the phone properly & close conversations politely.

12) Do not get trapped into wasting time on the PC (games, e-mails).

13) Endeavor to communicate clearly to others.

14) Teach yourself that saying “no” is not sinful.

15) Do not over react.

16) Learn to end a conversation or a visit.

17) Recruit others to use their talents and train them.

18) Constantly remind yourself that evangelism is the #1 priority.

19) Strive to be punctual.

20) Confidentiality is a “must”.

21) Love your people and preach the Word.

22) Regard yourself as the CEO of the church.

23) Oversee the equipment and supplies.

24) Conclude your ministry like a Christian gentleman.

25) Remind yourself that people are trusting you, don’t let them down.

Plainly, don’t get short changed.  Teach people that being ready to meet our Maker should be our #1 priority.  The Bible teaches that to avoid hell and gain heaven - one must:

1) Believe In Jesus As Savior (Acts 16:31)  2) Repent Of Sins  (Acts 17:30)   3) Confess Christ Audibly (Acts 8:37)   4) Be Baptized In   Water (Acts 2:38)
5) Live A  Christian Life (Acts 14:22)  6) Stay Active In The Church (Acts 2:47)
