“MONEY, HOW MUCH
DOES ONE NEED
AND WHAT TO DO WITH
IT?”
By Dr. Hoyt W.
Allen, Jr.
“... the love of
money is a root of
all kinds of evil.
Some people eager
for money have
wandered from the
faith and pierced
themselves with many
griefs.” (II Timothy
6:10)
Many warnings are
given in God’s Bible
about permitting
money to dominate
one’s life. Jesus
stated in Matthew 6
that mankind is
prone to worry about
obtaining needful
items to get through
life. His conclusion
was - don’t worry
about life’s
necessities. If you
seek My ways and My
will, I will take
care of you. Now,
this requires a
great deal of faith
on the part of the
Christian. Tithing
(giving 10% to the
Lord) is still God’s
way of financing His
ministries. Our
canceled checks will
reveal where our
heart is, concerning
God’s work.
Someone once said,
“MONEY CAN BUY ...”
1) A bed, but not
sleep
2) Books, but not
brains
3) Food but not an
appetite
4) A house, but not
a home
5) Medicine, but not
health
6) Luxuries, but not
culture
7) Amusement, but
not happiness
8) A crucifix, but
not a Savior
9) A church pew, but
not heaven
The Bible teaches
that to avoid hell
and gain heaven -
one must:
1) Believe In Jesus
As Savior (Acts
16:31)
2) Repent Of Sins
(Acts 17:30)
3) Confess Christ
Audibly (Acts 8:37)
4) Be Baptized In
Water (Acts 2:38)
5) Live A Christian
Life (Acts 14:22)
