"MEN, WHERE  ARE  THE  MEN?"

By Dr. Hoyt W. Allen, Jr.

A female Bible Correspondence Course student once wrote the following.  “I enjoy your Bible Studies very much.  I have learned so much, thanks a million and please continue to mail them to me.  I have a couple of questions which I would appreciate you commending on asap.”

1) Why is it that women tend to grow faster “in Christ” or spiritualy then men?

2) Why do women study the Bible more than men and seem to be more open to develope spiritaul reationships than men?

3) What can be done to help a marriage, as it is difficult when one has a spouse who is not maturing as I think that he should.  I love him, but he does not see the spiritual implications as I do.  Seeming in my marriage and in many around me - the children are being taught spiritual things by one parent.

Question #1:  This seemingly is the case most of the time.  In nearly any congregation the men will out-number the men.  Why?  One thing for sure, God did not appoints so many to be saved and so many to be lost (See II Pet. 3:9).  Men, in most cases are more difficult to reach than women.   Most women have a softer heart and are more open to the heart touching story of Jesus and His love.

Question #2: Some would say that women have more time to study the Bible (home with the children).  However, many women who are employed full time and “have a great deal on their plates” are seemingly more apt to read than men.  Yet, all of God’s children (male and female) are instructed to read and study (See II Tim. 2:15).

Question #3: God instituted marriage and the family.  His word (Bible) has many answers to assist the parents and needs to be sought after continually for divine guidance (See Eph. 6:1-4; 5:22-33).

The BIG QUESTION is: Not who is superior or the tougher, male or female, but have each been spiritually “Born Again” and allowed the mind to be renewed?   The song is true, "The Savior Is Waiting"!

The Bible teaches in “Acts” that to avoid hell and gain heaven - one must:

 1) Believe In Jesus As Savior (16:31)    2) Repent Of Sins (17:30)

 3) Confess Christ Audibly (8:37)    4) Be Baptized In Water (2:38)

 5) Live A  Christian Life (14:22)
