Setting up Netscape Messenger

Here's how to configure Netscape Messenger:

  • Open Netscape Messenger
  • Click on Edit on the menu and choose Preferences
    Expand the Mail and Groups Section on the left (do this by clicking the plus next to Mail & Groups)
  • Click on Mail Server

    Set the following information:
    Mail server user name: [your username; example: me]
    Outgoing mail (SMTP) server: mail.cros.net
    Incoming mail server: mail.cros.net
    Choose POP3 for the Mail server type
  • Click on More Options
  • Put a check in front of "Remember my mail password" if you do not want to be prompted for your password every time you open Netscape Messenger
  • Click on Identity
    Set the following information:
    Your Name:[Insert your real name here --this is optional]
    Your Email: [insert your email address here; example: me@cros.net]
    Your Organization: [insert your company name here--this is optional]
  • Click on the Organization tab
  • Put a check in front of "Remember Mail Password" if you do not want to be prompted for your password every time you open Netscape mail
  • Click on OK

    Your configuration is complete!
